This Warren bathroom remodel included a full exhaust fan upgrade — a Panasonic WhisperQuiet fan with humidity detection, new switching, and the wiring to support it.

Panasonic's WhisperQuiet line is the standard upgrade pick for homeowners who are tired of the loud, rattling fan that came with the house. These fans run noticeably quieter while still moving more air, which matters in a bathroom — a fan that's annoying to run is a fan that gets skipped, and a bathroom without proper ventilation runs into moisture problems fast: fogged mirrors, peeling paint, and eventually mold behind the walls or in the ceiling.

The humidity detection feature solves the “did I remember to turn the fan off” problem in the other direction. The fan senses when humidity in the room rises, from a shower or bath, and kicks on automatically, then runs until humidity drops back to normal and shuts itself off. The homeowner doesn't have to think about it or set a timer.

We ran new switching to support the upgrade, giving the homeowner manual control when they want it in addition to the automatic humidity response, and made sure the wiring was sized and routed correctly for the new fan.

A bathroom remodel is the right time to handle this. Moisture control isn't the most exciting part of a renovation, but it protects everything else in the room, the paint, the drywall, the vanity, from the slow damage that comes with poor ventilation.
